Welcome to Infant Jesus Shrine Dabra(M.P)

The Stone which the builders rejected has become the chief corner stone. This is from the Lord, and it is marvelous in our eyes ? (Ps.118:22-23). This Saying is very much true about Simeriya Tekri. This was an unattractive place before the establishment of the Infant Jesus grotto here. A gradual growth began to take place like a mustard seed sown in the field and attracted the birds of the air when it became a shrub, so also this pilgrim centre grew up gradually. Now devotees are attracted from all over. The Infant Jesus grotto was a humble begnning.

Some Events of Faith Experience

Mr. Joy of Tekanpur was very much troubled by his superiors for not being complicit in their corrupt practices. He was transferred to a remote corner of the state. He was very much disturbed as he couldn’t leave his wife and little daughter. In his moment of distress, he confided his difficulties to Rev. Sr. Gabriel who advised him to pray to Infant Jesus at Simeria Tekri. He took her advice seriously and began to visit the Grotto every Thursday morning before sunrise. His prays were answered and his persecutors were implicated in some illegal activities and were terminated from their service. His transfer was revoked. As a gratitude to Infant Jesus, he sponsored a meal for all the devotees in 2015.

Mr. Anuranjan Soren and his wife Sangeeta had two daughters . They wanted to have a baby boy. They regularly attended Holy Mass and said Novena prayers. The Lord heard their prayer and granted their wish. Meanwhile they were transferred to Chattisgarh from Dabra. They came for the Feast of Infant Jesus with their one month old child to thank Infant Jesus. During the offertory, Sangeeta reached the Altar on her knees while her husband carried the child. The sight brought tears in the eyes of everyone present.

Mr. Chaco and his wife Annamma Chaco were the residents of Datia. Their daughter was married and had to be settled in USA . Somehow, she didn’t get her visa. They were very much worried. Then they began to say the nine hour prayer. When they completed the ninth hour prayer, their prayer was answered. They came to Simeria on the following day with great joy and thanked the Lord

There are many such faith experiences.

A small shrine was built on the hillock and was blessed on 29th January 2016 by His Excellency Most Rev. Dr. Joseph Kaithathara, Bishop of Gwalior. Gradually people began their devotions by way of kneeling and reaching to the top while invoking the name of Infant Jesus. Every Thursday and 1st day of every month devotees go to the mount by kneeling and praying at 5 a.m. This devotion is very powerful and effective as it requires humility , sacrifice and faith.

Besides Novena, special prayers are offered on Thursday for the pilgrims. The Feast of Infant Jesus is celebrated on Second Sunday of February. Devotees come on foot on the eve of the Feast from Gwalior and other places.
Devotees and pilgrims are accommodated in the campus. They are looked after and basic facilities are provided for their stay.
